First lady of Moldova pays visit to Poland

Chisinau, 24 April /MOLDPRES/ - First Lady of Moldova Margareta Timofti paid a visit to Poland on 23 April, the presidency's press service has reported.
The visit’s agenda included meetings with First Lady of Poland Anna Komorowska, voivode of Lodz Jolanta Chelminska, as well as visiting the Lodz and Uniejow settlements.
The discussions with Anna Komorowska and Lodz-based local public administration representatives focused on transferring Polish experience, in the context of Moldova's European integration.
Margareta Timofti and Anna Komorowska attended the signing ceremony of the cooperation agreement between the Lodz-based Mother's Health Centre and the Research Institute for Mother and Child Health Care from Chisinau. The document was signed by the directors of the two institutions, Mr Maciej Banach and Stefan Gatcan.
First Lady of the Republic of Moldova Margareta Timofti said the event reconfirmed the friendly relations between the two countries and laid the foundation of a fruitful cooperation between the two medical institutions.
Margareta Timofti thanked the Polish nation for the assistance provided Moldova to modernise the society, noting that Mrs. Komorowski attended the inauguration event of the rheumatology department at the Institute of Mother and Child in Chisinau in 2014. The institute was renovated and re-equipped with the financial support of the Polish government.
First Lady of Moldova and Voivode of Lodz Mrs. Jolanta Chelminska discussed development of projects on taking over Polish best practices in governance by local authorities of Moldova and launching the initiative of establishing twinning localities in Poland and Moldova.
