Moldovan, Russian officials address bilateral cooperation, Transnistrian conflict

Chisinau, 24 April /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Victor Osipov met Russian Ambassador to Moldova Farit Mukhametshin today, the Bureau for Reintegration has reported.
Farit Mukhametshin congratulated Victor Osipov on the active start of his work in the office of deputy minister for reintegration, as well as on being appointed as co-chair of the Moldovan-Russian inter-governmental cooperation commission. The envoy underlined the need to deepen the bilateral cooperation between the two countries and a string of opportunities which existed in this respect.
The officials also approached the present situation in the Transnistrian conflict settlement, aspects of the Chisinau-Tiraspol dialogue, as well as prospects for continuing the five-plus-two talks. The sides also addressed the access of Dubasari district farmers to their farmlands beyond the Camenca-Tiraspol highway, as well as the situation in the security zone, including problems of the peacekeeping mission and Joint Control Commission.
Osipov reiterated the need that the participants in the Transnistrian conflict settlement give up counter-productive actions, inert thinking and identify solutions and opportunities expected by the people from the two banks of Dniester. The officials broached, in particular, the need to create an friendly environment for the Moldovan-Russian economic cooperation, including by taking into account the Transnistrian economic agents.
