Moldovan electoral body sets number of mayors, counsellors to be elected on 14 June

Chisinau, 25 April /MOLDPRES/ - During the 24 April meeting, the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) set that 12,578 elective offices are to be filled in at the 14 June elections.
CEC said that, out of these, 11,680 mandates are for the office of counsellor in the local councils of I and II levels, and another 898 mandates – post of mayor.
After the local general election of 5 June 2011, 10,630 village/town counsellors, 1,120 district counsellors and 898 mayors were elected.
At the same time, CEC also established the limit of financial means for the political parties, social and political organisations and electoral blocks for the June elections, which is of 59 million lei.
CEC planned expenses of 98 million lei for organising the 2015 local general elections.
