European Council president, Moldovan premier hold joint press conference

Chisinau, 28 April /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova is the most promising partner in the process of European integration, and the Moldovans' European aspirations are justified. European Council President Donald Tusk made statements to this effect at a today 's joint press conference with Prime Minister Chiril Gaburici.

Tusk said that, despite a minority government in Chisinau, the European Union remained loyal to Moldovan citizens' aspirations and praised the efforts of the country to maintain political stability.

"We agreed with Prime Minister Gaburici to continue cooperation on the implementation of key reforms, particularly in the filed of justice and the banking system. These things can be achieved only through resolute actions. Moldova is on the right track," said Tusk.

For his part, Chiril Gaburici said that following the discussions with the European Council president, he found out that Moldova enjoyed full support of the European Union in all the present cabinet was set to do.

European Council President Donald Tusk is on a two-day visit to Chisinau. Besides, Prime Minister Gaburici, he met the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party, Vlad Filat, President Nicolae Timofti and is to meet Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu.
