Chisinau, 28 April /MOLDPRES/ - A delegation made up of 13 Moldovan winemakers participated in two specialised wine tastings in New York today, according to a press release by the National Office for Vine and Wine (ONVV).
American journalists and opinion makers were the first to taste the Moldovan wines.
Later on, Moldovan winemakers will meet possible business partners, such as importers, distributors, etc.
ONVV Director Dumitru Munteanu highlighted that “this type events represent an efficient platform to promote and confirm the commercial ambitions of Moldovan winemakers, who will set new business partnerships and will benefit from more opportunities to increase exports.”
Over 150 guests were invited to the event. Starting from 2010, the USA has been recording the biggest wine consumption worldwide.
Moldova exported 502,000 litres of wine to the USA in 2014, by 75,000 litres more against 2013.
ONVV, with the support USAID CEED II and U.S. Government’s SABIT programme, organised the participation of Moldovan winemakers in the event in New York.
