Chisinau, 29 April /MOLDPRES/- The Moldova ICT (Information and Communications Technology) Summit 2015 today started with a meeting, within which the Information Technology and Communications Ministry (MTIC) proposed a cyber security programme for public discussions. Information technology and Communications Minister Pavel Filip gave a news conference and expressed the vision of the institution on coherent management of the virtual space in Moldova.
"The project sees a string of actions for security of processing, circulation, storage, preservation and accessibility of data in the digital space. Along with colleagues from the Interior Ministry and Defence Ministry, Intelligence and Security Service and Prosecutor General's Office, we have managed to work out a programme in line with European practices. This is an important detail, as cyber security of a state can be efficient only with joint efforts", Filip said.
The minister stressed that the national cyber security programme included four essential components. They refer to the requirements and standards that must be observed by each IT operator, as well as to certification of systems and specialists in the field. At the same time, the document sees audit of information technology and communications system and identification of constraints, prescriptions and sanctions. "This is a tough approach, as cyber security is a very important element, especially in the context of the vanishing of the borders between ordinary life and the virtual one," Filip noted.
The main event of the year in the ICT sector, Moldova ICT Summit 2015, is carried out in Chisinau on 29-30 April. The forum is organised the sixth year in a row by MTIC, USAID project, CEED II and other partners.
