Estonia represents model of EU integration, says Moldovan premier

Chisinau, 29 April /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Chiril Gaburici met Estonian Foreign Minister Keit Pentus –Rosimannus today. The sides discussed the latest developments in the Moldovan-Estonian relations, Moldova's European agenda and preparations for the Eastern Partnership Summit in Riga, which will take place on 21 - 22 May 2015, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
The prime minister expressed gratitude for the constant support offered by the Estonian government in fulfilling Moldova’s reform agenda. Chiril Gaburici thanked the European Union for the assistance provided in implementing the Moldova-EU Association Agreement.
"Estonia represents an example for the European course of Moldova, and we perceive your visit as a strong signal of support on behalf of the Estonian partners to modernise the country", stressed the prime minister.
Chiril Gaburici referred to the consultancy services provided by Estonian experts in health, education, social protection, human rights and e-governance, noting that it was very important in the process of alignment with the European Community standards. The prime minister reiterated the government's commitment to continue the reform programme in the justice and banking sectors.
"We are willing to share Estonia's experience with the Moldovan authorities. We notice the reforms underway; in some areas you have registered progress. Although it is not easy, reforms are needed to improve the living standards of citizens", said Estonian Foreign Minister Keit Pentus-Rosimannus.
In the end, the sides agreed to maintain a constant dialogue to develop bilateral relations between the two countries on all cooperation dimensions.
The Estonian government will provide Moldova with assistance in the amount of 950,000 euros for the implementation of projects in 2015. Furthermore, 24 companies from Moldova will participate in the Moldovan-Estonian business people forum, which will be held in Tallinn on 20 May 2015.
