Development partners to support Moldovan government

Chisinau, 29 April /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Chiril Gaburici today met the ambassadors of Sweden, European Union Delegation and the United States to Moldova, Ingrid Tersman, Pirkka Tapiola and James Pettit, respectively, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
Chiril Gaburici talked about the current cabinet’s priorities: consolidating society, reunifying the country, fighting corruption to ensure attraction of investments, as well as Moldova's economic development and observing the law.
"I am happy that the government has the support of development partners. For us, it is important that the reforms initiated in various areas be continued, thus ensuring the country's European integration. Together with the cabinet members, we will continue working to modernise Moldova", reiterated the prime minister.
Ambassador Ingrid Tersman welcomed Prime Minister Gaburici’s intentions and assured that Sweden would further back all actions of the Moldovan government.
"We are willing to provide the necessary expertise and assistance to achieve the objectives that you set for yourselves”, said US Ambassador James Pettit.
Head of the EU Delegation to Moldova Pirkka Tapiola reiterated the European institutions’ support for Moldova. "The visit of European Council President Tusk on 28 April was very constructive and one more proof that the European partners back the current Cabinet of Ministers, and you personally, in developing and modernising Moldova", said Pirkka Tapiola.
"We have the ambition to change the situation in Moldova for the better, to maintain the country's European course, to provide people security and confidence in state institutions," concluded Prime Minister Chiril Gaburici.
The sides also discussed the working session between members of the Moldovan government and development partners, due on 1 May. "A meeting in such a format takes place for the first time ever. The close cooperation between the government and development partners shows the current government’ openness and willingness to make the governance act transparent," concluded Chiril Gaburici.
