Czech premier to visit Moldova

Chisinau, 30 April /MOLDPRES/ -  Czech prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka will visit Moldova, at an invitation by Prime Minister Chiril Gaburici, the government's communication and media relations department has reported. 

Prime Minister Chiril Gaburici and Czech Ambassador to Moldova Jaromir Kvapil discussed the visit, due in the second half of 2015, at a today's meeting. The sides tackled the strengthening of the Moldovan-Czech ties, economic cooperation, assistance provided by the Czech Republic to Moldova, as well as the first inter-governmental meeting, scheduled for late next June. 

"We appreciate the annual holding of meetings of the Moldovan-Czech commission for cooperation in economic, industrial, technical and scientific sectors, working groups in the transport and energy areas. We are happy that, this year, an inter-governmental meeting will be held for the first time ever, which proves that the dialogue between our countries has advanced," the prime minister stressed.

Chiril Gaburici thanked the Czech government for the increased interest in stepping up the reforms in Moldova and for projects implemented in various settlements through the 2011-2017 Cooperation for Development Programme. "We express gratitude for the fact that Moldova is kept on top of the priority states in terms of assistance for development, provided by the Czech government," the prime minister also said.   

For his part, the Czech ambassador praised the reforms started in Moldova and reiterated the support of the Czech Republic to carry out Moldova's European integration. "I am glad that you move forward and continue the reforms on the country's modernisation. There is a lot of work to be done, yet you have enough courage and initiative to achieve the objective you have set - European integration," Jaromir Kvapil said.  

In this context, Prime Minister Gaburici said that "our country has established the direction it is willing to reach and we will continue to move step by step, on the European path." 

Annually, the Czech Republic provides Moldova with  assistance worth three million euros to implement projects in various sectors.
