Moldovan electoral body approves model of ballot paper for 14 June 2015 elections

Chisinau, 30 April /MOLDPRES/ - The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) today approved the model of the ballot paper for the 14 June 2015 local general elections.

Under the CEC decision, each ballot paper will be divided in quadrilaterals, each having the size of 110 mm x 20 mm, the number of which will correspond to the number of electoral contenders. The voting papers will be distinguished by colour. Thus, the ballot for the election of the village, town (municipality of Comrat) mayor will be pink-coloured, for the Balti mayor and Chisinau general mayor – violet, the councillors of the village, town (Comrat municipality) councils – smoked grey, and for voting counsellors in the district (Balti and Chisinau municipalities) councils – beige.

The district electoral councils will approve the texts and number of copies of ballot papers and the respective decisions will be presented to CEC till 24 May 2015.

CEC also registered the Lista poporului (List of Nation) electoral block for the local general elections, made up of the Social Democratic Party and Political Party Centrist Union of Moldova.
