Thousands of Moldovans participate in meeting in Chisinau

Chisinau, 4 May /MOLDPRES/ - Thousands of citizens from all over Moldova gathered on the Great National Assembly Square (PMAN) on 3 May, to ask the government for better living conditions and continuing the European integration path.
The participants in the rally scanned „We are the power. The nation is the force.”
The participants demanded settlement of the problem of jobs, too low salaries and pensions. They also asked the government to continue the justice and education reforms, and invoked corruption deeds at high level.
Concomitantly with the meeting in Chisinau, similar actions were organised in more cities from France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Ireland, Greece.
The rally was followed by a march up to the National Anticorruption Centre, after which the protestants came back to PMAN.
General Police Inspectorate Press Officer Mariana Betivu said that 16,000 citizens participated in the meeting.
Following the event, Prime Minister Chiril Gaburici convened a working meeting of law-enforcement bodies.
