Chisinau, 4 May /MOLDPRES/ - The Communist Reformist Party was excluded from the list of political parties due to participate in the local general elections from 14 June 2015. The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) took a decision to this respect at a meeting today.

CEC Secretary General Andrei Volintir said the decision was taken after the Justice Ministry had excluded the party from the Register of Political Formations.

„The Justice Ministry complied with a court decision taken in late April and suspended the registration of the Communist Reformist Party,” Volintir said.

As a result, the Commission proposed to amend the annex to a CEC decision from 10 April 2015 on the list of political parties and social and political organisations which may participate in the local general elections, by excluding the position 40 that belonged to the aforementioned party.

In late last April, the Buiucani Court annulled the Justice Ministry's decision, under which the Communist Reformist Party was registered with the Political Parties Register. The decision was taken after the Party of Communists of Moldova had submitted an appeal.

Forty two parties and other social and political organisations will be able to participate in the 14 June 2014 local general elections.
