Chisinau, 5 May /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Chiril Gaburici, in the beginning of today's government meeting, asked the competent institutions to estimate the damage of the explosion, which took place in a block of flats in the town of Cantemir on 4 May. Fifteen families were left homeless and without identity papers in the wake of the blast, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.

"I ask the Emergency Situations Service, Regional Development and Constructions Ministry, local authorities to get involved in identifying the resources needed to build or repair the building. Let us find money in the government’s reserve fund. If necessary, let local authorities get involved in backing the families which suffered from the explosion", said the prime minister.

Gaburici asked the Information Technology and Communications Ministry and Justice Ministry to issue the identification documents that burned during the explosion as soon as possible and free of charge. Chiril Gaburici demanded opening of a bank account to collect funds to help the hit families.

The prime minister asked the regional development and constructions minister to walk him through the identified solutions on ways to provided the 15 affected families with permanent housing and necessary funds.

He thanked firefighters, rescuers and doctors for acting promptly in this situation. "The people were housed and have access to water and food. The person that was seriously injured was transported by the Aviasan service to Chisinau and is under medical supervision," said the prime minister.

The prime minister also asked ministries and institutions to revise the actions of assimilation of funds provided by foreign partners. "I have received the reports and saw in them a lot of actions that are being postponed and due to which the funds had not been used. I insist you absorb this money and invest it, because I do not want to get to the end of the year without turning to account these funds", said Chiril Gaburici.

Another topic discussed by the prime minister at the beginning of the meeting was the publication of the Kroll report. "From the beginning, I insisted that this report be unveiled to the cabinet and I want to be transparent before citizens. The only concern was that the publication of this report not hampers the investigation. I demand that the National Anti-Corruption Centre, Interior Ministry, Security and Information Service, Prosecutor General’s Office consider this case in a short time and in accordance with Moldovan legislation. We all want the money to be returned, and the guilty held accountable," added Chiril Gaburici.
