Moldovan premier meets former Georgian president

Chisinau, 6 May /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Chiril Gaburici met Adviser to Ukrainian President Mikhail Saakashvili in Kiev today morning. The officials broached the deepening of bilateral cooperation, regional security, reform of justice and law-enforcement bodies, fighting corruption and stability of the financial and banking sector, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.

Chiril Gaburici made a short presentation of projects that were to be implemented in the concerned sectors in Moldova. Gaburici also informed about the Moldovan government’s priorities and actions that would be undertaken to provide citizens with a better future and decent living.

Mikhail Saakashvili voiced the willingness of the team of advisers to Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko to provide unconditional support to the Moldovan government to carry out the reforms underway. Saakashvili was confident that the initiatives proposed by Chiril Gaburici would lead to Moldova’s modernisation and change for the better of the situation in the country. Moreover, the official reiterated the support for ensuring stability in the financial and banking sector, reform of justice and law-enforcement bodies.

”The Moldovan prime minister has enough potential to make real changes in Moldova. To be successful, the fight against corruption must be boosted and the prime minister is determined to accomplish this process. Chiril Gaburici is a hope not only for Moldova, but also for the entire region. It is important that he is backed in his intentions,” Mikhail Saakashvili said.

Chiril Gaburici is on a working visit to Kiev, Ukraine, at an invitation by Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko.
