Moldovan PM enjoys Ukraine's every support to carry out European agenda

Chisinau, 6 May /MOLDPRES/-Prime Minister Chiril Gaburici today met his Ukrainian counterpart Arseniy Yatsenyuk and Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko in Kiev, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
The officials discussed the Moldovan-Ukrainian relations, prospects for boosting the bilateral cooperation and mutual support at international level. The sides highlighted the importance of enhancing the political, social and economic dialogue and expressed common interest in fostering the bilateral and multilateral relations in all sectors.
The sides exchanged opinions on regional security issues, in order to identify common actions for ensuring efficient cooperation between Moldova and Ukraine.
“Moldova is interested in further promoting the political dialogue and direct ties with Ukraine at all levels. The Moldovan government reasserts interest in strengthening our relations, in order to adequately respond to the new challenges and threats”, he said.
For their part, Petro Poroshenko and Arseniy Yatesnyuk reiterated the Ukrainian side’s interest in developing bilateral cooperation. The Ukrainian authorities appreciated that Moldova provided possible assistance to overcome the consequences of the armed conflict in the eastern districts of Ukraine.
Poroshenko said that Moldova was a trustworthy partner of Ukraine. “Prime Minister Gaburici can rely on Ukraine’s support in fulfilling intentions of country’s modernization and implementing the European agenda. The prime minister is prepared to change the situation in the country for the better, we back him and the Moldovan government. It is important that we help each other in carrying out the common integration into the European Union,” he said.
Taking into account the general nature of the separatist conflicts from the two countries, Gaburici said that Moldova spoke out for a closer cooperation with Ukraine in settling them, including within the international organizations (UN, OSCE, Council of Europe ,etc).
Another topic of the discussion was focused on security in energy and cyber sectors, as well as consolidation of capacities of response to eventual crisis situations. The sides agreed on boosting the exchange of data, experience and good practices in the concerned sectors. The officials approached the synchronization of the energy systems of Moldova and Ukraine with the European network of the ENTSO-E transport systems operators, in order to diversify the electric energy market via new cross-border opportunities.
In this context, the sides also touched upon projects on state border’s integrated management and modernizing border checkpoints, including in cooperation with the EUBAM Mission. The officials expressed common interest in developing the activities to this end, including in extending pilot-projects on common patrolling of Moldova’s eastern border, which had already proved the efficiency in reducing migration and other kinds of risks in the region.
The agenda of talks also included subjects on implementation of joint projects financed from abroad, focused on reforming justice and law institutions, fighting corruption, as well as modernising the infrastructure.
Chiril Gaburici today paid a working visit to Kiev, the capital of Ukraine, following an invitation by President Petro Poroshenko. The prime minister also met Ukrainian Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council Oleksandr Turchynov.
