Moldovan government to organise more events dedicated to 70th anniversary of World War II end

Chisinau, 8 May /MOLDPRES/ - The government will organise a string of events dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the end of the World War II on 9 May, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
The events on 9 May will start at 09:00, with a commemorative rally at the Eternitate (Eternity) Memorial Venue. Moldovan President Nicolae Timofti, Prime Minister Chiril Gaburici, MPs, cabinet members, veterans and their relatives will attend the event.
The event will be followed by a ceremony of laying flowers at the Eternal Fire (Focul vesnic), Stela of Moldovan Heroes (Stela Eroilor Moldoveni) and Grieving Mother (Maica indurerata) commemorative plaques and monuments.
On this day, public authorities will organise rallies of remembrance, laying flowers, festive concerts and celebration dinners for veterans of World War II in all localities of Moldova. Military orchestras of the National Army and Interior Ministry orchestra will perform in the public gardens in the country.
Throughout May, pupils and students will go on trips to the Cap Serpeni Bridgehead Memorial and the Lesson of Peace will be held in educational institutions.
The 2015 issue of the Songs of faith, hope and love Festival is also organised on this occasion. Book exhibitions and meetings with veterans will take place in libraries and other public institutions.
