PACE co-rapporteurs on visit toMoldova

Chisinau, 13 May /MOLDPRES/- Co-rapporteurs of the Monitoring Committee to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) Lise Christoffersen and Piotr Wach pay a fact-collecting visit to Moldova on 13-16 May, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.
The European officials will meet Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu, President Nicolae Timofti, Prime Minister Chiril Gaburici. The co-rapporteurs will also have meeting with MPs of Moldova’s parliamentary delegation to PACE, the heads of the parliamentary factions and leaders of political parties.
The visit's agenda also includes meetings with President of the Constitutional Court Alexandru Tanase, Director of the National Anticorruption Centre Viorel Chetraru and Prosecutor General Corneliu Gurin. The officials will also meet Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Victor Osipov, Deputy Foreign and European Integration Minister Andrei Galbur, Interior Minister Oleg Balan, Justice Minister Vladimir Grosu, Ombudsman Mihail Cotorobai and the head of the Council for Prevention and Elimination of Discrimination and Ensuring Equality, Oxana Gumennaia. At the same time, the PACE co-rapporteurs will hold talks with representatives of international organisations, civil society and media.
The officials will also pay a visit to the southern autonomous region Gagauzia. They will meet Gagauz Governor Irina Vlah, Chair of the Popular Assembly Dumitru Constantinov and civil society representatives.
