Moldovan premier invites civil society to talks on anti-corruption measures

Chisinau, 13 May /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Chiril Gaburici has invited civil society to talks on anti-corruption measures, announced by the cabinet, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
„The fight against corruption is a priority of the government and, in this respect, the cabinet launched more initiatives. The draft law on Prosecution reform was approved last week. A team of reformers, with whom we discuss measures of fighting corruption in different countries, especially the experience of Ukraine, Georgia and Poland, visits the government this week," Chiril Gaburici said at the today cabinet meeting.
Gaburici also informed that the head of the National Anticorruption Directorate of Romania Laura Codruta Kovesi will pays a visit to Moldova next week, at an invitation by Prime Minister Chiril Gaburici. „My request is that everybody should get involved. During Mrs Codruta Kovesi’s visit, we will meet representatives of the Justice Ministry, National Anticorruption Centre and the Prosecutor General’s Office," Gaburici said.
Gaburici also said that a meeting with representatives of the civil society was scheduled for 15 May; at the event, issues of fighting corruption, reforms of law-enforcement bodies will be discussed and most pressing problems, as well as solutions to them will be identified.
