U.S. government supports restoration of kindergarten from north Moldova

Chisinau, 15 May /MOLDPRES/- The Drochia-based kindergarten No 1 has been restored with the support of the U.S. Government. Attending the ceremony of inaugurating the kindergarten after restoration was U.S. Ambassador to Moldova James D. Pettit.
The renovation project was submitted by the Drochia mayoralty and financed by the American programme EUCOM Civic Engagement Branch. As a result of its implementation, 14 sanitary units, sports hall and a canteen have been restored and provided with equipment.
James D. Pettit said the works carried out at the kindergarten would improve the education process and contribute to the children's multilateral development. In the context, the official highlighted the cooperation between the United States and Moldova, which had determined the success of the restoration project.
The project amounting to over 150,000 dollars was managed by the Civic Department of U.S. European Command and was part of the rural sanitation programme of the American embassy's military cooperation bureau. The programme backed similar renovation projects in more schools and kindergartens of Moldova.
