Moldovan parliamentary delegation attends spring session of NATO Parliamentary Assembly

Chisinau, 15 May /MOLDPRES/ -A parliamentary delegation attends a spring session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly (NATO PA). The event takes place in Budapest, Hungary, on 15-18 May, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.
The delegation is made up of MPs, head of the parliamentary delegation to NATO PA Valeriu Strelet and delegation’s member Dumitru Diacov.
The session's agenda includes meetings of political groups, five commissions and a plenary meeting.
At the opening of the event, NATO PA President Michael Turner, Speaker of the Hungarian National Assembly László Kövér, Hungarian Deputy Prime Minister Zsolt Semjén, NATO Deputy Secretary-General Alexander Vershbow, Chairperson of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina Sefik Dzaferovic, Georgian Parliament Speaker David Usupashvili, Parliament Speaker of Montenegro Ranko Krivokapic and other officials will give greeting messages.
NATO PA members will tackle and approve a draft declaration on NATO enlargement, at the 18 May meeting. The issues considered at the five commissions will be focused on challenges in combating terrorism, counteracting propaganda attacks against Euro-Atlantic community, NATO action plan on re-activity, impact of sanctioning the Russian economy, economic situation in Ukraine and development prospects, as well as the situation in terms of financing terrorism.
NATO PA represents a forum for international parliamentary dialogue on security, political, social and economic problems. Attending the event will be 270 delegates from 28 NATO member states, parliamentary observers and associated members from 23 countries.
