Chisinau, 16 May /MOLDPRES/- Members and supporters of more unionist organisations requested unification of Moldova with Romania within a rally held in Chisinau today. It was carried out in the context of marking 203 years of annexation of Bessarabia to the Russian Empire.
Participants in the event chanted unionist slogans and displayed placards with similar messages. More young people delivered speeches on supporting unification. They criticised the Moldovan government's actions, and noted that the only solution to solve many problems faced by Moldova was unification with Romania.
The event's organizers announced the launch of a campaign to collect signatures for unification of the two states. They expressed their intention to hold a large action, named "great national assembly", in Chisinau on 5 July.
The protesters started marching towards the Russian Embassy in Chisinau, US Embassy and Romanian Embassy, then they will come back again on the Great National Assembly Square.
