Chisinau, 18 May /MOLDPRES/ - The Court of Appeal today rejected an appeal of anti-corruption prosecutors, who requested that businessman Ilan Shor, suspect in the case of “fraudulent management of the Banca de Economii (Moldovan Saving Bank, BEM)”, be placed in cell.
The prosecutor working on this case, Adriana Betisor, said that Shor would continue to remain under home arrest till the term of 30 days expires and that the decision taken by the court today is irrevocable.
Betisor highlighted that the measures undertaken by prosecutors after the arrest mandate expires would depend on the collected evidences and would be presented subsequently.
On 6 May, the Buiucani Court delivered a sentence, under which Ilan Shor was put under home arrest for 30 days. Shor is prosecuted for excess of power when exercising the office of deputy head of the BEM Board of Directors.
