Moldovan electoral body launches information campaign for voters

Chisinau, 19 May /MOLDPRES/- The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) today launched an information campaign on importance of citizens’ participation in the general local elections with the motto: “I am voting means living”.
CEC head Iurie Ciocan said that 15 video spots would be carried out within the campaign, referring to the election education, voting procedure, participation in election etc.
At the same time, ten audio spots will be carried out, which will be broadcast on various radio stations.
CEC is set to elaborate brochures, guides for voters and observers, panels that will be placed on main roads in the country.
Also, hats, shirts, pens and other attributes with electoral messages will be made and distributed in each district centre.
“The actions’ purpose is to inform the people about participation in elections and at the same time, to raise awareness in order to exercise the right to vote”, Ciocan said.
The general local elections will be held on 14 June. CEC foresaw expenses worth 98 million lei to conduct elections.
