Moldovan, European officials tackle reforms, cooperation, projects

Chisinau, 20 May /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and European Integration Minister Natalia Gherman met Secretary General of the Council of Europe Thorbjørn Jagland on 19 May, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry’s information and media communication service has reported.
The officials exchanged opinions on implemented projects from the Action Plan on supporting democratic reforms for 2013-2016 and the impact of cooperation between Moldova and the Council of Europe on the European integration agenda.
At the same time, Gherman requested the Council of Europe’s involvement in solving the problem of the Moldova-run schools from Transnistria.
For his part, Thorbjørn Jagland highlighted the constructive collaboration with Moldova. „Moldova advances in the correct direction as to implementation of reforms,” Jagland said.
Natalia Gherman invited Thorbjørn Jagland to pay a visit to Moldova, in the context of marking the 20th anniversary of accession of Moldova to the Council of Europe in July 2015.
