Chisinau, 21 May /MOLDPRES/ - The Liberal Democratic Party’s (PLDM) candidate for the office of Chisinau general mayor, Serafim Urechean, today officially started his electoral campaign for general local elections.
PLDM leader Vlad Filat said that „only Urechean may manage well the Chisinau municipality, taking into account the experience he has and the people of his team”.
For his part, Serafim Urechean highlighted that his goal was to depoliticize Chisinau. „We were the ones who built streets, trolleybus lines, gas systems, schools, libraries, pavements and dwellings. Our task is to bring Chisinau at least to a normal condition,” Urechean said.
The local polls will take place on 14 June. Fourteen candidates compete for the post of Chisinau general mayor.
Serafim Urechean is 65 years old and, at present, serves as head of the Court of Accounts. He held the office of Chisinau mayor in 1994-2005.
