Moldovan deputy prime minister, UN representative address support, projects, cooperation

Chisinau, 22 May /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Victor Osipov met UN Resident Coordinator, UNDP Resident Representative for Moldova Dafina Gercheva on 21 May, the Bureau for Reintegration has reported.
Osipov congratulated Gercheva on the start of a new stage of the Confidence Building Measures Programme implemented by UNDP Moldova.
For her part, Dafina Gercheva highlighted that the programme would last for 3 years and, within it, about 30 projects would be implemented in settlements in the security zone.
Victor Osipov stressed the need to direct resources to carry out social projects with favourable impact on the living standards of residents of the two banks of Dniester.
Dafina Gercheva underlined that UN team as programme’s implementer, as well as in the broader sense of assistance provided to Moldova, would continue efforts to ensure a better life to Moldovan people.
Osipov praised the cooperation level between Moldova and UN and thanked for the support provided in the process of bolstering confidence between the two banks of the Dniester.
