Former head of Moldovan bank detained by National Anticorruption Centre

Chisinau, 22 May /MOLDPRES/- The ex-head of the Banca de Economii (Moldovan Saving Bank, BEM), former chief of the Credit Committee Grigore Gacikevici was detained by the National Anticorruption Centre (CNA) within a criminal file.
According to the National Anticorruption Centre’s press service, the file was opened after more infringements of the credit rules were discovered at Banca de Economii.
Gacikevici was held for 72 hours and is in CNA custody.
CNA officers and prosecutors today carry out more prosecution actions within more files on providing bad loans by the former management of BEM and Banca Sociala (Social Bank).
