"I think I am not exaggerating, if I say that the creation people, writers see reality differently. Therefore, I would be glad that you support us in our efforts to inform citizens, in an apolitical language, about the reforms we are promoting", the government's communication and media relations department has reported.

The participants in the dialogue exchanged opinions on the social and cultural developments in the society, stressing the place and role of the writer in the context of Moldova's democratization and modernisation. Gaburici informed the interlocutors about  the opportunity to strengthen the national unity, as one of his priorities, in his tenure of prime minister. "I want to believe that ,in these difficult moments for us, for the country, you, the writers, besides the act of writing, will assume a social role with great responsibilities," he said.

The sides agreed that, in reasonable periods, a bureau should be set up at the Writers' Union, to promote the national cultural values. The bureau will be made up of creation people, writers, artists, who will go to the Moldovan settlements to promote the national traditions, values and culture.

Another up-to-date subject was focused on the need to launch a literary magazine, founded by the Union. The head of the Writers' Union, Arcadie Suceveanu, pointed out that a financial support from the state is needed to start this project.

"The current status of the the writer does not allow us to have such a magazine in the country", he said.

Gaburici said he would promote an initiative to amend the national legal framework, in order to work out a draft law that would provide for financing culture magazines.

At the end of the meeting, Gaburici announced he would offer to the Writers' Union a car for the good work of the bureau for promoting national cultural values. Next week, the gift provided by the government will reach the beneficiaries.

Writer Arcadie Suceveanu promised that the Writers' Union would join the initiatives by the prime minister and would contribute to strengthening the national unity. He stressed that the writer's language had an incontestable power for raising the awareness.
