Moldovan bank's former head gets 30-day arrest in isolation ward

Chisinau, 25 May /MOLDPRES/- The former head of the Savings Bank (Banca de Economii), Grigore Gacikevici, will remain in the isolation ward of the National Anti-corruption Centre (CNA) for 30 days. The Buiucani district court of Chisinau pronounced a decision to this effect.
Gacikevici was arrested on 22 May as suspect in the file of bank fraud and bad loans.
Another two suspects in the same file, businessmen Valentin Bodișteanu and Mihail Mosin, received 30 days home arrest each, under a decision by the Buiucani court.
On 22 May, six persons were escorted to CNA to be informed about the status of suspect within new files on bad loans from BEM.
Businessman Ilan Shor, suspected of "BEM's mismanagement", was released from home arrest on 22 May, after he had registered his candidacy for Orhei town mayor office at the polls due on 14 June.
