Moldovan president attends SEECP summit in Tirana

Chisinau, 25 May /MOLDPRES/ - President Nicolae Timofti participates in a summit of heads of state and government of the South East European Cooperation Process (SEECP), held in Tirana, Albania, on 25-26 May, the presidential press service has reported.

In Tirana, the Moldovan president will have an official meeting with  his Albanian counterpart Bujar Nishani.

Timofti will approach the importance of cooperation on Euro-Atlantic dimension between the countries of Southeast Europe.

The Moldovan official delegation is made up of Secretary General of the President's Apparatus Ion Paduraru, the adviser to the president on public communication, Iulian Grigorita, the adviser to Foreign and European Integration Policy, Deputy Foreign and European Integration Minister Tudor Ulianovschi and Moldovan Ambassador to Albania Alexandru Prigorschi.

The South-East European Cooperation Process (SEECP) is a regional cooperation organisation, founded in 1996, at an initiative of Bulgaria, which aimed at setting new forms of cooperation, after the appearance of new states on the territory of former Yugoslavia. The goals of regional cooperation within SEECP are: strengthening security and political situation, boosting economic and cooperation ties in human resources, democracy, justice and fighting illegal activities. The organisation includes Albania, Bulgaria, Greece, former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Romania, Serbia, Turkey, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Moldova, Montenegro and Slovenia.
