International Development Association to provide 12-million-dollar-worth loan to Moldova

Chisinau, 28 May /MOLDPRES/ - The parliament today passed in first and second readings the draft law on ratification of the additional financing agreement between Moldova and the International Development Association as to implement the Moldova Agriculture Competitiveness Project.
The bill stipulates the providing of a loan of 12 million dollars in order to support Moldovan farmers who had suffered from the import restrictions imposed by Russia in 2013-2014. More exactly, from the mentioned money, compensations will be provided to apples, plums and grapes producers affected by the above-mentioned bans.
The Agency of Interventions and Payment for Agriculture will make the money transfer to agricultural producers based on lists forwarded by its territorial representatives and approved by a ministerial commission. The loan is provided for a term of 25 years, with a grace period of five years.
After the draft examined, the MPs took a break till 29 May. The lawmakers also examined for a few hours the draft law on prosecution, without being put for voting today.
