Chisinau, 3 June /MOLDPRES/ - "The Moldovan delegation to the Joint Control Commission (JCC) is disappointed that the Transnistrian delegation again tries to politicize the technical and organisational subjects dealing with the activity of JCC and the peacekeeping mechanism," says a press release by the Bureau for Reintegration.
The communique also says that "in order to overcome this situation and ensure the functionality of peacekeeping mechanisms in the Transnistrian region of Moldova, the Moldovan delegation initiated the holding of an extraordinary meeting on 4 June 2015."
To this effect, "the Moldovan side of the Joint Control Commission today addressed the delegations on behalf of Russia and the Transnistrian region, as well as representatives of Ukraine and the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Mission to JCC with a request to conduct a special meeting of the Commission. Within the meeting, the sides will discuss organisational topics related to the activity of the commission and Joint Military Command. At the same time, more amendments to the Regulation of the JCC will be submitted for approval, which would allow, in the long run, quickly settling problems which may appear in conducting the peacekeeping operation," says the press release.
The Moldovan delegation deems it necessary to adopt urgent decisions that would lead to improving the functionality of the peacekeeping mechanism and overcoming present problems, that will help establish a climate of trust between the sides of the Joint Control Commission, the communique also says.
