Bucharest hosts forum on investment, business opportunities in Moldova

Chisinau, 4 June /MOLDPRES/ - The Economics Ministry and Moldovan Embassy in Bucharest, in cooperation with the Commercial Section of the Austrian embassy in Romania, organised an investment forum titled ”Day of investment and business opportunities of Moldova” in Bucharest on 3 June, for Austrian companies working in Romania, the Economics Ministry has reported.
The event brought together about 50 participants, representatives of the Austrian diplomatic corps and companies, which work in Romania and Moldova in such areas as automotive industry and electrical elements, air, financial and banking ones, legal consultancy, paper and cardboard, constructions, IT, energy efficiency, electrical and renewable energy, production of industrial equipment, components for lathes, design, cable and conductors trade, sewerage and waste-water treatment systems, etc.
Moldovan Deputy Economics Minister Octavian Calmic unveiled politics in the business area, progress in adjusting the national legislation to the EU acquis, as well as the results of implementation of the Free Trade Agreement with EU. Calmic encouraged Austrian entrepreneurs to expand their businesses in Moldova.
The advantages and investment opportunities provided by Moldova on the platform of industrial parks and free economic zones were explained by the head of the staff of the deputy prime minister, economics minister, Ion Lupan, after presentations made by the manager of the Tracom industrial park, Vitalie Vrabie, and manager of the Balti-based free economic zone, Marin Ciobanu.
The forum participants also had possibility familiarise with the experience of Austrian companies, as well as of Austrian managers who already work in Moldova, such as Schonherr, BCR, Grawe Carat Insurance and Draxlmaier.
