Moldovan PM meets investment fund's representatives

Chisinau, 4 June /MOLDPRES/- Prime Minister Chiril Gaburici today met representatives of the investment fund, Horizon Capital. This is an entity-manager of private investments funds which initiates and manages investments in business. The sides exchanged opinions on the economic situation, implemented projects or the ones underway with the company's support in different sectors, the government's communication and media relations department has reported.

Gaburici said that any investment in Moldova was an achievement, as it contributed to creating jobs and economic growth. "We are grateful to you for the projects carried out so far. We are open for a more intense cooperation, especially in providing support to develop small and medium-sized business," he said.

Also, the premier referred to the actions taken by the government, as well as initiatives due to be implemented in the nearest future. In the context, he touched upon the decrease of the number of documents on import and export for economic agents, from 11 to 3.

"One of the government's priorities is transparency of business environment, namely, excluding human factor in getting documents. Another initiative, which I proposed along with my team, is to publish information on name and surname of companies' founders. This is something necessary and beneficial for the business environment and entire society, in general", he said.

The premier also referred to an initiative to launch the ombudsman institution for business environment, with the support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. The Horizon Capital representatives welcomed this idea, describing it as indispensable to improve the business climate in Moldova.

Company's chief executive officer Lenna Koszarny said that most companies managed by them in Moldova were leaders on the regional market in terms of quality of management, market share, profitability and economic growth.

"We are glad that we managed to invest in companies playing a very important social role on the Moldovan market. In all, we contributed with over 73 million dollars in nine Moldovan companies, with more than 5,000 people working there. Moldova is important for us and we are looking for new investment opportunities", Koszarny added.
