Heavy rains hit more Moldova settlements

Chisinau, 5 June /MOLDPRES/ - Hundreds of hectares of gardens, orchards and vineyards from different Moldovan settlements were destroyed or affected by heavy rains and strong wind over the past 24 hours, the Civil Protection and Emergency Situations Service has reported.
The rain destroyed over 700 ha of private gardens, 23 ha of vineyards and damaged slate sheets of 15 houses from Cismichioi village, southern Gagauz region.
Two settlements from northern Floresti district also were affected by rains. Twenty five hectares of orchards were compromised in Alexeevca village and over 135 hectares of corn were destroyed in Frumusica village.
More vineyards hectares were damaged in Larga village, northern Briceni district. More cars were stuck on flooded segments of road in Chisinau.
The territorial emergency situations commissions are to estimate areas destroyed by yesterday rains and the amount of material damage.
The State Hydro-meteorological Service has said that rains will continue to fall till 6 June.
