Moldovan deputy premier hands diplomas to graduates of course on security policy

Chisinau, 5 June /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and European Integration Minister Natalia Gherman today participated in a closing ceremony of the first training course in Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP). Attending the event were Director of the Crisis Management and Planning Directorate within the European External Action Service Gabor Iklody and Defence Minister Viorel Cibotaru, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry's communication and media relations service has reported.
In her speech, Gherman highlighted importance of continuing the partnership with EU in security and defence sector, emphasizing the ascendant dynamic of the bilateral ties in the field.
Minister Gherman handed to course graduates, representatives of EU and Eastern Partnership countries participation certificates signed by EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini.
The training course was held in Chisinau on 1-5 June, and was organised by the Foreign and European Integration Ministry and Defence Ministry, in partnership with Austrian Defence and Sports Ministry, European College of Security and Defence and European External Action Service. The course was aimed at strengthening the platform of cooperation between the Eastern Partnership states and EU member countries in the security and defence sector.
At the same time, the second meeting of the Moldova-EU bilateral consultations in CSDP sector took place in Chisinau on 4-5 June. Needs of national institutions to implement security sector reform were approached at the event. In the context, the sides agreed to provide mutual support for strengthening regional security.
