Many Moldovan settlements to benefit from funds for roads repair

Chisinau, 10 June /MOLDPRES/- The cabinet today approved amendments and completions to the Road Fund for 2015, providing for continuing the programme on roads repair within settlements. Thus, 452 million lei has been earmarked for repair of roads of access to social institutions from villages and towns, the government's communication and media relations department has reported.
The document sees that a list with 707 units due to benefit from repair was elaborated after consultations with local public administrations.
"Priority will be given to the roads of access to schools, healthcare centres and other social institutions," Transport and Roads Infrastructure Minister Vasile Botnari said.
The road fund for 2015 represents 1 billion 523 million 748,000 lei, up by 159.5 million lei against 2014.
The road fund is used for financing maintenance, repair and reconstruction of national and local public roads, managing and designing public roads, as well as for buying equipment necessary to maintain roads.
