Chisinau, 10 June /MOLDPRES/- The government, at a today meeting, approved a draft decision meant to improve the measures for protection of disabled people, in accordance with provisions of the UN Convention and other laws on social inclusion of disabled people, the government's communication and media relations department has reported.
The provisions on age discrimination when employing personal assistants were excluded via the proposed amendments. Thus, the disabled children, up to 3 years old, will be able to benefit from parental assistants' services, if the parents do not benefit from partially paid leave for child care until the age of 3.
The draft decision sees that the persons who benefit from adult family placement services and who are fully maintained by the state will receive 25 per cent of the pension set in line with legal provisions.
The amendments were carried out as a result of more notifications by relevant institutions and organisations. No additional financial means are necessary from the state budget, to enforce the provisions of the draft decision.
