Moldovan Commission for awarding National Prize has new composition

Chisinau, 10 June /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet today approved a new composition of the Commission for awarding the National Prize, due to be chaired by Prime Minister Chiril Gaburici. The commission will select and consider proposals of candidates for the National Prize, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.

Ministries in charge, creative unions, sports federations, the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, universities, as well as winners of the National Prize and State Awards will forward candidates for the contest.

Moldovan citizens, whose outstanding achievements significantly enriched sciences, technologies, culture, arts and sports, who contributed significantly to promote Moldova’s positive image at international level, as well as a considerable impact on development of technical, scientific social and economic progress, national and world culture, may be proposed for the national prize. 

Annually, the government awards 10 national prizes in amount of 100,000 lei each for achievements in sciences, technologies, culture and arts, sports. The national prize is awarded during the events dedicated to the Independence Day.

The contest for awarding the national prize - issue 2015, has been already launched. Recommendations on candidates for this contest, as well as their files are collected by the aforementioned commission at the government’s headquarters till 24 July.

The national prize was established in 2012, in order to boost creative activity and promote modern values in sciences, technology, culture, arts and sports.
