Moldovan foreign minister attends global forum in Poland

Chisinau, 12 June /MOLDPRES/- Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and European Integration Minister Natalia Gherman today participated in Global Forum Wroclaw 2015 in Poland, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry's communication and media relations service has reported.
At the event, Gherman presented priorities of Moldova's European integration agenda and need of a consolidated trans-Atlantic vision for the region, in the context of reviewing the European Neighborhood Policy. Also, Minister Natalia Gherman pointed out the results of the Moldova-EU Association Agreement's enforcement, as well as need to continue reforms in advancing on the EU integration path.
At the same time, the minister reiterated the importance of continuing the dialogue in the 5+2 format to identify a solution to the Transnistrian conflict, based on the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Moldova. In the context, highlighting the constitutional neutral status of Moldova, Gherman paid attention to the need to withdraw the foreign armed forces from Moldova.
Attending the event were Poland's President Bronislaw Komorowski, Polish Foreign Minister Grzegorz Schetyna, Georgian Foreign Minister Tamar Beruchashvili, Macedonian Defence Minister Zoran Jolevski, a member of the U.S. Senate's Committee on Foreign Relations, Jeanne Shaheen, as well as other officials.
The forum is traditionally organised in Poland by the U.S. Atlantic Council, one of the most influential analytical centres from Washington D.C. and brings together over 200 politicians, well-known personalities and representatives of business groups. The event stresses the role of the Central European countries in joint efforts to strengthen cooperation between the United States and Europe at economic, political and security levels, as well as promotion of fundamental values of the democracy.
