Election silence in Moldova today

Chisinau, 13 June /MOLDPRES/ - The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) warns the electoral contenders and media that the electoral propaganda on the day of elections and the one before is strictly prohibited.

CEC said that, on these days, the organising of electoral propaganda actions and participation of electoral candidates in TV or radio shows are also forbidden. The electoral competitors cannot make transfers into the account with the mark „Electoral fund” too.

The continuation of the electoral propaganda in the mentioned days by the media, electoral contenders and citizens is fined with up to 400 lei for private persons and up to1,000 lei for electoral candidates.

The 14 June elections will be monitored by 2,353 observers, of whom 138 are on behalf of 24 international organisations.
