Chisinau, 14 June /MOLDPRES/ -No exit poll will be held during the 14 June local general election. The head of the Central Electoral Commission (CEC), Iurie Ciocan, has informed about this.
Ciocan said that, till today, no request of this type was submitted.” No exit poll was organized during the 30 November 2014 parliamentary elections too,” Ciocan said.
Exit polls were organised for the first time in Moldova in 2005 and, during the 2010 parliamentary elections, surveys were made by two companies (Romanian Institute for Evaluation and Strategy and CBS Axa Centre for Sociological Investigations and Marketing). The data provided by exit polls did not correspond with the final results presented by CEC, the margin of error being of almost 10 per cent for some parties. According to CEC data, in 2010, 39.34 per cent of electors voted for the Party of Communists, whereas the exit polls showed a figure of 33.8 per cent for mentioned party.
