Over one million Moldovans vote by 16:00

Chisinau, 14 June /MOLDPRES/ - All elective offices in Moldova are working under normal circumstances and the voter turnout was over 35.5 per cent by 16:00. Central Election Commission (CEC) Chairman Iurie Ciocan made statements to this effect during a briefing today.
According to him, the highest turnout was registered in the village of Pocrovca, Donduseni district - almost 77 per cent. The lowest turnout was recorded in the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia (Gagauz Yeri).
"In the Chisinau district, 30 per cent of the voters registered on the lists voted until 16:00. In Balti the participation rate is 32 per cent. 13,117 citizens voted on the additional lists", said Ciocan.
According to Ciocan, local elections were held in all second level constituencies.
In today's runoff citizens will elect 898 mayors and 11,680 local councillors.
