Moldovan electoral body processes 99.68 per cent of reports

Chisinau, 15 June /MOLDPRES/- The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) has processed 99.68 per cent of reports of the Moldovan districts. CEC head Iurie Ciocan made the statement today at 10:30.
Ciocan said five district constituencies were to present reports. It is about Taraclia, Soroca, Cimislia, Cahul and Nisporeni.
"The electoral bodies are obliged to present reports at CEC within 48 hours. They will be set opposite to the data received in electronic system, and if they coincide, they will be considered as final data", Ciocan said.
Ciocan also noted that the votes had been canceled in two settlements, and snap polls would be organised by holding the runoff vote.
"It is about Ulmu village, Ialoveni district, where the turnout was not met, and Topala village, Cimislia district, where voting process was stopped as a result of an incident", he said.
According to preliminary data, in Chisinau, Liberals' candidate for mayor position Dorin Chirtoaca picked up 37.57 per cent of votes, and Socialists' candidate Zinaida Greceanii got 35.69 per cent of votes. The two persons will go in the second round of elections.
In Balti municipality, after processing 100 per cent of reports, Our Party candidate Renato Usatii got 72.46 per cent of votes.
