Chisinau, 15 June /MOLDPRES/ - The Liberal Party (PL), European People’s Party of Moldova (PPEM), Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) and Democratic Party (PDM) got 47.45 per cent of votes of electors for the Chisinau municipal councillors, whereas the Party of Socialists (PSRM), Party of Communists (PCRM) and Our Party picked up 43.18 per cent of the ballots.
The data was published on the webpage of the Central Electoral Commission (CEC), after 100 per cent of reports on the election of the Chisinau municipal councillors had been processed.
CEC Head Iurie Ciocan has told MOLDPRES that, on the days to come, the commission was to set, on a formula basis, how many mandates of councillors each party is to get.
Thus, based on the gained percentage, a pro-European majority might be created in the Chisinau Municipal Council. Till the present elections, the council has been made up of 26 Communists, 17 Liberals, seven Liberal Democrats and one Democrat.
