Moldovan parliament speaker summons heads of standing committees

Chisinau, 15 June /MOLDPRES/ - Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu today summoned a working meeting with deputy parliament speakers and leadership of the standing committees. Discussions focused on the legislative priorities for the next period, till the end of the spring session, the parliament’s communication and media relations department has reported.
As many as 192 draft laws are presently on the agenda for consideration, including 25 legislative acts proposed by the government, to be adopted as a priority in the current session. Most are under consideration in the committee on economy, budget and finance - 71 drafts, legal committee on appointments and immunities - 35 acts, the committee on public administration, regional development, environment and climate change - 28 drafts, committee on social protection, health and family - 25 acts.
The priority legislative drafts discussed at the meeting aim at improving the national legal framework in areas important to citizens, including approximation with the EU acquis.
Adrian Candu urged the committees' heads to revise the draft laws under consideration, in accordance with their concerned areas of competence and to submit proposals for the agenda of the parliament plenary meetings.
The parliament speaker informed that a meeting of the Standing Bureau was summoned on 16 June, to decide on the date of the next parliament plenary session.
