Moldovan Liberal Democrats, Democrats get most votes for councilors' positions

Chisinau, 16 June /MOLDPRES/- The Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) and Democratic Party (PDM) have got most votes for the positions of local, district and municipal councilors, according to political distribution all over Moldova.
The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) has said that PLDM picked up 22.24 per cent of votes for councilors in the first-level administrative and territorial units, down by 3 per cent against the previous local polls.
PDM ranks second with 21.88 per cent, up by 3 per cent against the 2011 local elections.
The Party of Socialists (PSRM) come next with 12.25 per cent of the ballots. The Party of Communists (PCRM) got 11 per cent, down by 18.5 per cent against the 2011 polls.
PCRM is followed by the Political Party Our Party (PPN) with 8.22 per cent, Liberal Party (PL) - 8.13 per cent, independent candidates - 7.87 per cent and the electoral bloc European People's Platform of Moldova (PPEM) with 5.89 per cent.
Also, as for the election of councilors in second-level administrative and territorial units, the votes' distribution in the country, according to political affiliation, shows that PLDM got most votes - 18.27 per cent, followed by PDM with 17.58 per cent, PSRM - 16.60 per cent, PL, PPN, PCRM, PPEM and independent candidates.
The pro-European parties got majority in the Chisinau municipal council.
