Chisinau, 16 June /MOLDPRES/ - The head of the Civil Aeronautical Authority, Iurie Armas, was suspended from office. The government approved a decision to this end today.
Armas was suspended at a request by the Anticorruption Prosecution, which informed that it had started the criminal investigation ”based on illegal actions of decision-makers of the Civil Aeronautical Authority”. ”The prosecution believes that the holding of the office by the present director might lead to a situation when he might use his office duties in prejudice of the authority,” Government Deputy Secretary General Roman Cazan said.
Iurie Armas was appointed to office in 2013.
