Over 1 billion lei to be invested in development of Moldovan SMEs

Chisinau, 16 June /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet today approved a decision on completion of the Strategy on development of the small and medium enterprises (SMEs) for 2012-2020 with the action plan on implementation of the strategy for 2015-2017, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
Among the plan’s main goals there are: reducing administrative barriers and regulatory costs for SMEs, optimising regulations on trade activities practiced by SMEs, development of innovative financing schemes, attraction of long-term credit lines from international financial institutions, development of credit guaranty system, facilitating SMEs' access to public procurement, development and promotion of entrepreneurial education and culture, development of public-private partnership in business, etc.
The total cost of measures provided for in the action plan is of 1.017 billion lei, of which 243.6 million lei represents sources stipulated in the state budget; 732.1 million lei – sources covered from assistance of development partners and 41.6 million lei are non-covered sources.
The aforementioned strategy was approved on 13 September 2012.
