European Commission to provide 64 million euros for developing Moldovan agriculture

Chisinau, 16 June /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet today passed a draft law on ratification of a financing agreement on implementation of ENPARD Programme Moldova - Support for Agriculture and Rural Development between Moldova and the European Commission.
The agreement stipulates providing of 64 million euros. To receive this money, Moldova will have to fulfill more conditions, including to make progress in implementing actions contained in the National Agricultural and Rural Development Strategy for 2014-2020. The implementation period will be of 84 months.
Agriculture and Food Industry Ministry Ion Sula said the implementation of ENPARD programme would contribute to developing export capacities of main products of the Moldovan market to the EU market. At the same time, the conditions for work and labour in rural regions will be improved, and security and food safety will be ensured by implementing sustainable policies.
The parliament is to ratify the agreement.
